Actually, you can find out. Under the FOIL (Freedom of Information Law), you can go to your County Board of Elections, and request the voting record of anyone, not necessarily a politician. I was at my county board of elections today, as a matter of fact, and requested such a form. Just to give you an example of a 'politician's' voting record being researched was earlier this year, when Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg's voting record revealed that she had missed several New York City elections. Kennedy-Schlossberg was then being considered for appointment to Hillary Clinton's US Senate seat by the Governor. She, later, withdrew, her name from consideration.
