Is Gandhi a King Henry the VIII problem?
Q. Allow me to elaborate here in detail: 1. Many claim him to be a great spiritual leader. 2. This claim is unlikely supported by Catholics. 3. King Henry the VIII voluntarily left the Catholic Church, to establish the Church of England. 4. In the Victorian Era, under the conservative Prime Minster Disreali, India was annexed to Great Britain. 5. Gandhi claimed to best exemplify Christianity. (and see 2) Therefore this is a King Henry the VIII problem.

A. 1. Although Ghandi may be considered to be a great spiritual leader, he was a Hindu that believed in a multiplicity of gods that Christians, Jews and Muslims don't recognize. 2. Why would it be supported by Catholics or any other Christian church? 3. King Henry VIII did leave the Catholic Church he did not leave voluntarily. He left because the pope at that time would not allow him to divorce Katherine of Aragon so Henry could marry Anne Boleyn. As the king of England he decided to become the head of the Church of England. 4. The only reason India was annexed to Great Britain was for exploitation purposes only.BTW, Prime Minister Disreali was Jewish and had no loyalty to Christianity. 5. A. Henry VIII changed everything when he divorced Catherine of Aragon and married Anne Boleyn. He essentially made himself head of the english church. He totally ignored the pope and went on with the divorce. He made his own laws and disregarded anything anyone else said. He changed how people practiced religion in england.

What did King Henry VIII do with the heads of people who opposed him?
Q. I thought he lobbed them off and stuck them on a fence, but i might be wrong, and i'd like to check. Thanks in advance!

A. Well, he didn't cut them off personally! They were also displayed on old London Bridge. A famous head spiked there was that of Sir Thomas More: "The head, after being parboiled, was exposed on London Bridge for a month when Margaret Roper bribed the man, whose business it was to throw it into the river, to give it to her instead. The final fate of the relic is somewhat uncertain, but in 1824 a leaden box was found in the Roper vault at St. Dunstan's, Canterbury, which on being opened was found to contain a head presumed to be More's." You can just see a load of heads spiked here on top of the gate in the foreground:
