Certainly these groups are correctly categorized as folk as opposed to any other term, but the rougher and less professional sounds of John Handy, Mississippi John Hurt, Woody Guthrie, Ramblin' Jack Eliot and others are the "real" fold music and the Library of Congress made great efforts to preserve their recordings.
