The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is a system of phonetic notation based primarily on the Latin alphabet, devised by the International Phonetic Association as a standardized representation of the sounds of spoken language. The IPA is used by foreign language students and teachers, linguists, speech pathologists and therapists, singers, actors, lexicographers, conlangers and translators.

The IPA is designed to represent only those qualities of speech that are distinctive in spoken language: phonemes, intonation, and the separation of words and syllables. To represent additional qualities of speech such as tooth gnashing, lisping, and sounds made with a cleft palate, an extended set of symbols called the Extensions to the IPA is used.

Occasionally symbols are added, removed, or modified by the International Phonetic Association. As of 2008, there are 107 distinct letters, 52 diacritics, and four prosody marks in the IPA proper.

A. I don't have any videos, but I can help you figure out what sounds to make. I studied the IPA extensively. I can help you make the sounds as close as possible. I haven't learned most of the sounds by recordings, usually by the way it's written. If you want my help, contact me in one way shape or form.

A. The cite below might be useful to you. I learned a lot from a basic phonetics class, taught in the Linguistics Department. Since you show some interest in language and pronunciation, you might see what your uni has in the way of phonetics courses. Given the aural nature of your question, I'm not sure you'll get a good, definitive answer here, that's why I suggested the formal class. Good luck!
