From Google News Search: "arts and entertainment" How respected is a BA in Interactive Arts/Entertainment by the gaming industry? Q. If I were to get a BA in that instead of, say, Fine Arts, would I have a better chance of getting a job at a development studio or not? Asked by eh m - Sat Oct 13 18:36:33 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. You definitely need a Bachelor's degree to get into the game industry, but what degree is best depends on what area of development you want to get into. There are four basic areas of the development team: design, programming, art, and level building, which are supported by production, Quality Assurance, customer service, sound design, marketing, business development, etc. Designers write up the details of every tiny aspect of the game and come up with the math to support it. Programmers take the written details from the designers and implement it using programming languages like C++ and/or in-house tools. Artists create the 3D art, animations, textures, etc for everything in the game. And level builders take assets created by the… [cont.] Answered by Ryot - Mon Oct 15 18:25:16 2007 Is Music paired with Entertainment instead of Arts because the medium has been misunderstood? Q. Music is an art form. It is a language of sound used to convey ideas in a way that great minds have said is the most direct method of projecting the subjective. Shouldn't Music should be moved to the Arts and Humanities or is it because the popular use of music is nothing more than foot-tapping entertainment, however unhealthy? Asked by Sorrowful W - Mon Mar 26 09:09:08 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think it's because of the type of music discussed in this area. Most of the "questions" are related to current/recent pop literature... not the classics. I have found a lot of classical music/music pedagogy questions in the Arts and Humanites, Performing Arts category. It sucks I know, but not everyone has a sophisticated ear such as you and I. Answered by Sarah S - Mon Mar 26 09:25:52 2007 Which of these ten US cities is, in your opinion, the most sophisticated city (i.e. arts and entertainment)?
Q. If you d like, you can rate each city on a scale from 1 to 10. Here are the cities (in alphabetical order): Atlanta Boston Chicago Los Angeles Miami New Orleans New York City Philadelphia San Francisco Washington, D.C. Or if you have a city that you think is more sophisticated than these 10 cities, I d love to hear it. Asked by Brandon - Tue Dec 11 19:45:01 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. All of these cities are unique in the entertainment and art they are known for. Also, I think that all of these cities are sophisticated in their own way. Sure, no city is perfect, but it's up to the traveler to visit a place and determine if it's a place they love (imperfections and all). With that said, my favorite cities in your list would have to be Atlanta (where I live) NYC, DC, and Boston. I haven t been to the other cities, but I do plan to in the future!
