What makes the pop art movement different to other art movements?
Q. Also what is unique about the style and the way artists use materials in pop art? thanks

A. i think its unique because it questions forms of traditional art, uses materials such as garbage etc which is considered controversial and is certainly not traditional... relates to neo-dadaism which can be viewed as a reflection on dadaism... i think its all about questioning what we call art and challenging views on what qualifies as art - this is what makes it different

The 19th century movements of Post-Impressionism and Art-Nouveau led to the first 20th century art movements of Fauvism in France and Die Brucke (the Bridge) in Germany. Another German movement was Der Balue Reiter (The Blue Rider), which was led by Wassily Kandinski of Munich, who associated the Blue Rider phenomena with a spiritual non-figurative mystical art of the future.
