Q. can any one tell me where i can find any thing about a chalkware Macaw Parrot on a pole with a big brass ring and the brid is setting on a swing at the top of the ring ?

A. The origin of American chalkware is generally attributed to the Pennsylvania Dutch, first appearing in the mid 1800's as a low-cost decorative alternative to the more expensive English Staffordshire figures. Forms most commonly found in chalkware are dogs and cats, particularly spaniels and poodles, followed by animals such as squirrels, roosters, doves and parrots. more information here: Note: there is an email contact at this site for an antiques appraiser that might be able to help you.
